Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is a versatile and highly-sophisticated spectroscopic technique with a wide range of applications, from structural elucidation of complex molecules, to 3D imaging of fresh tissues, to simple ingredient assays for quality assurance.

In NMR, there is a close relationship between the quality of the sample and the quality of the resulting spectrum. Follow the following simple sample requirements to ensure that the useful information provided by your prepared sample is not lost or obscured.

The purity of the submitted sample should generally be greater than 95 %, without impurities such as iron filings and dust.

Provide as much information as possible about the sample, such as possible structure, expected results and solubility of the solvent. If there are any special requirements, please specify them.

For ¹H spectra of organic compounds (except polymers), the required sample quantity should be greater than 5 mg. Similarly, for ¹³C spectra of organic compounds (except polymers), the required sample quantity should be greater than 15 mg. For polymers, the required sample quantity should be appropriately increased.

The volume of liquid sample should be at least 0.5 mL.
